The region
Once you have decided to visit Cataluña outside of it's big cities, off course you come to La Bisbal d’Emporda!

Nature gave us the best, as our region lies along Costa Brava, 15 kilometres from the astonishing seacoast of Cataluna with plenty of greater or lesser sandy beaches. We also have the Gavarres Hills, 28000 hectares of nature conservation area, vast forests. Lovers of nature, be welcome!

Baix Empordá has been inhabited since prehistoric times, here You can look for the trace of cavemen just as well as the Romans. Many museums of the region await You - just to mentione a few: the Salvador Dalí museum, not so far in the north, is incredible from the inside and the outside too, then there's the Terracotta museum of ceramics in La Bisbal to introduce to You a side of handicraft that You’ve never seen before, furthermore several museums of the Mediterranan, fishing, and contemporery art.

For the lovers of gastronomy our region offers fish and whatever tasty things the sea gives, and wine, with special regard to the wines from around La Bisbal, and a wide range of exceptional slow and fastfood restaurants.

Our house, La Rosa dels Vents is situated in La Bisbal, in Baix Empordá, in the county of Girona. La Bisbal is the world capital of ceramics, local artisans begun working here in 1511, and since then they keep creating their unique handmade products. You can see not only 500 years old ceramics, but the latest and most innovative pottery in the local Terracotta Museum, which is by 10 minutes of walking from our house. So is La Bisbal’s autenthic and beautiful old quarter and the Castillo-Palace de la Bisbal, worth walking around, each night!

Our small town lies 40 minutes driving from Girona, and only 20 minutes by car from the miraculous Costa Brava seacoast. The scenery is perfect not only for hiking, but you will find plenty of bike trails in the area too.
Once you come here, you also should accept the fact that you won’t stand to try our great gastronomy, the tasty wine and the divine tapases!
